Image tools

Compress, resize, rotate and convert JPG, PNG, WEBP and HEIC images without uploading them.

These image tools work on photos and graphics right in your browser. Your pictures are decoded, changed and saved again on your own device, so holiday photos, scanned documents and product shots are not uploaded anywhere. You can add many files at once, and when there is more than one result you get a single ZIP.

Resize, rotate and the Image Converter read JPG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC from iPhones, GIF, BMP and AVIF where your browser supports it. The single-format converters, such as PNG to JPG, accept just their own input type. Results are saved as JPG, PNG or WEBP. Because each image is redrawn, hidden EXIF data such as GPS location is not copied to the new file. Transparent areas become white whenever the result is a JPG, and an animated GIF is saved as its first frame.

Questions

Which image format should I use?

JPG for photos that need to open everywhere. PNG for screenshots, logos and anything with transparency. WEBP for images on your own website, where small size matters and every current browser can show it.

In what order should I resize, convert and compress?

Resize first, because fewer pixels means a smaller file in any format. Then convert or compress. Doing it the other way round means the image is encoded twice and loses a little more quality.

Can I use these tools on my phone?

Yes. They work in Safari, Chrome and other mobile browsers. Large batches, especially HEIC photos, are slower on a phone than on a computer, so convert them in smaller groups if the page feels sluggish.

Will the photo date and location be kept?

No. The new image is drawn from scratch, so EXIF details like date taken, camera and GPS position are left out. That is useful before sharing photos publicly. Keep the originals if you sort your albums by date.
