How to use Reorder PDF Pages

  1. 1

Click "Select files" or drag your files onto the box.

  2. 2

Change the options if you need to.

  3. 3

Click "Reorder pages" and download the result.

Type the new order, like 3, 1, 2, and any pages you leave out are added at the end in their original order. "Reverse all pages" fixes the common case of a stack scanned back to front.

How to reorder PDF pages online by typing the new order

Instead of dragging thumbnails around, you write down the order you want. Type 4, 1, 2, 3 and page 4 becomes the first page. Pages you leave out are placed after the ones you typed, in the order they had before. So moving a single page to the front takes just one number.

Ranges handle bigger moves. In a 20-page file, 11-20, 1-10 swaps the two halves. A range written backwards flips only that stretch, so 1-3, 9-4, 10- keeps the beginning and the end in place and reverses the middle. To flip the entire document there is a separate "Reverse all pages" mode with nothing to type.

The work happens inside your browser. You get a new PDF with "_reordered" in its name, and the original file stays exactly as it was. Since nothing is uploaded, you can rearrange a contract, a medical record or a tax return without sending it to anyone.

Common problems when rearranging PDF pages

Double-sided scan with fronts and backs separated

A feeder that scans one side at a time often gives you all the fronts first, then all the backs from last to first. With five sheets, fronts are pages 1-5 and backs are pages 6-10 in reverse. The correct order is 1, 10, 2, 9, 3, 8, 4, 7, 5, 6. Write the pattern on paper before typing it.

A page ended up at the very end

That page was not in your list, so it was added after the pages you typed. Add its number where it belongs and run the tool again on the original file.

You wanted a page to appear twice

Each page can only appear once in the result, even if you type it twice. To duplicate a page, use Extract PDF Pages to save it as its own file, then combine the files with Merge PDF in the order you need.

Footer numbers are now out of sequence

Numbers printed on the pages travel with the pages, so after reordering they jump around. If the document had no numbers yet, rearrange it first and then use Add Page Numbers. Numbers that were already printed cannot be changed with this tool.

Reorder or Extract: which one you need

Both tools let you set the page order. The difference is what happens to the pages you do not type.

Reorder keeps every page. Anything you leave out is simply moved after your list, so the page count stays the same.

Extract keeps only the pages you type and drops the rest. Use it when the reordered file should also be shorter.

Questions

Do I have to type every page number?

No. Pages you don't mention are appended at the end in their original order.

Can I reverse a PDF?

Yes. Choose "Reverse all pages" and the last page becomes the first.

How do I move the last page of a PDF to the front?

Type the number of the last page on its own, for example 12. That page becomes page 1 and all the others follow in their usual order.

Can I reverse only some of the pages?

Yes. Write the part you want flipped as a backwards range, such as 8-5. Pages before and after it can be typed normally or left out.

Does changing the page order affect quality?

No. Pages are copied as they are, without being redrawn or compressed, so text and images look the same as before.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The tool runs in your browser and the files never leave your device. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.
