How to use Rotate PDF

  1. 1

Click "Select files" or drag your files onto the box.

  2. 2

Change the options if you need to.

  3. 3

Click "Rotate PDF" and download the result.

A PDF viewer can turn a page on screen, but the next person still gets it sideways. Rotate PDF saves the rotation in the file. Leave the page field empty for the whole document, or type pages like 2, 5-7.

How to rotate PDF pages and save the change permanently

Every page in a PDF carries a small rotation setting that tells viewers which way up to show it. Rotate PDF changes that setting and saves a new copy of the file. The text, images and drawings on the page are not touched or redrawn, which is why the result looks exactly as sharp as before and the file size barely moves.

Choose 90° clockwise, 180° or 90° counter-clockwise. Then decide which pages to turn: leave the Pages field empty for all of them, or type numbers such as 1, 4-6. The new angle is added to whatever rotation the page already had, so a page that was already turned once will turn further, not snap back to a default.

You can drop in several PDFs at the same time. The same angle and the same page numbers are applied to each one, and each file comes back as its own download. Everything runs locally in your browser.

Rotating a PDF: common problems and fixes

Some pages need 90° one way and others the other way

One run applies one angle. Rotate the first group of pages, download the result, then load that new file and rotate the second group in the other direction. Each pass adds to the previous one, so the first fix stays in place.

The page turned the wrong way

Clockwise and counter-clockwise are easy to mix up when a page is upside down in your head. Load the rotated file and turn the same pages by 180°, or start again from the original. Nothing is lost either way.

Only a table on the page is sideways, not the whole page

Rotation works on whole pages. If a portrait page holds a landscape table, turning the page makes the table readable but puts the header and footer on its side. That is normal for printed reports and most readers expect it.

Pages still print sideways

Some printer dialogs have an auto-rotate or orientation option that overrides the file. Check that it is set to automatic or to match the document. With the rotation saved in the PDF, the pages themselves are correct.

Rotate PDF or Rotate Image?

If your sideways pages are already inside a PDF, use Rotate PDF. It keeps text selectable and does not reduce quality.

If you still have the photos you plan to turn into a PDF, it can be simpler to fix them first with Rotate & Flip Image and then convert. Either order gets you upright pages.

Questions

Can I rotate only one page?

Yes. Type its number in the Pages field, for example 3.

Does rotating reduce quality?

No. Only the page rotation setting changes. Content is not redrawn.

How do I rotate a PDF and save it without Adobe Acrobat?

Open this page in any browser, add the PDF, pick the angle and press the button. The download is a normal PDF with the rotation stored inside, which every reader will respect.

Can I rotate a PDF on my phone?

Yes. It works in mobile Safari and Chrome. The rotated file is saved with your other downloads, ready to share from there.

Will the next person see the pages the right way?

Yes. The rotation is part of the file now, not a view setting on your device, so it travels with the PDF when you email or upload it.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The tool runs in your browser and the files never leave your device. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.
