How to turn PNG screenshots into one PDF
Screenshots are almost always PNG files, and they tend to arrive in a pile: ten steps of a bug, a whole chat conversation, every page of an online booking. Add them here, check the order, and the tool lays them out one per page in a single PDF. The work happens inside your browser, so screenshots that show account numbers, private messages or customer data never travel to a server.
A PNG goes into the PDF untouched. It is not converted to JPG on the way, so small interface text and thin lines stay crisp, and any transparent areas simply show the white page behind them. You can add JPG, WEBP and other images to the same document, and they will be placed as pages in the same way.
Choose A4 or US Letter if someone might print the result, or "Same as image" if it will only be read on screen. The margin setting adds a white frame around each screenshot, which makes printed pages easier to read.
Common problems when converting PNG to PDF
A long scrolling screenshot is tiny on an A4 page
A full-page capture of a website can be many times taller than it is wide. Squeezed onto A4, the text becomes unreadable. Pick "Same as image" so the page takes the shape of the screenshot, or cut the capture into several shorter images before adding them.
The PDF is much larger than expected
PNG is great for interface text but heavy for photos. If some of your images are photos saved as PNG, convert those with PNG to JPG first. Screenshots of plain apps and documents are usually fine as they are.
Printed screenshots look grainy
A screenshot only has as many pixels as your screen had. Printed on A4, a laptop screenshot is stretched across the page. Zoom in on the content before you capture it, or use a larger margin so the image is printed a bit smaller and looks sharper.
Screenshots of different sizes look messy
Phone and desktop captures have very different shapes. With A4 and the same margin on every page, each image is scaled to fit and centred, so the document looks consistent even with mixed sources.
PNG to PDF or JPG to PDF?
Both tools accept the same image types and offer the same options, so you can use either one. What changes the result is the format of your files, not the page you start from.
If you control how the images are saved, keep screenshots, diagrams and scans of text as PNG for sharp edges, and save photos as JPG for smaller files. Mixing the two in one PDF is perfectly fine.
Questions
Do screenshots stay sharp?
Yes. PNG images are embedded as they are, without converting them to JPG.
Can I mix PNG and JPG?
Yes. Any supported image type can go into the same PDF.
How do I save several screenshots as one PDF on Windows or Mac?
Take the screenshots as usual, open this page and select all the image files at once. Put them in order and convert. You get one PDF with a page for every screenshot.
Will the text in my screenshots be searchable in the PDF?
No. The screenshots are added as pictures, so the PDF cannot be searched or copied from. If you need searchable text, save the original web page or document as PDF directly instead.
Is there a limit on how many PNG files I can add?
There is no fixed number. A few dozen screenshots are no problem. Very large images in big batches depend on the memory of your device, so on a phone it can help to convert in smaller groups and merge the PDFs afterwards.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The tool runs in your browser and the files never leave your device. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.
